Off-road tour to Ripalte and access with a visit to the Ginevro Mines

    Join an adventurous off-road tour at Ripalte, on the sinuous profiles of the Calamita relief, southeast of the Island of Elba.
    Access a private property: Tenuta delle Ripalte, covering over 400 hectares of Mediterranean scrub and 16 hectares of vineyard.

    Let yourself be guided by the internal guide, discovering the property, with its ancient stories and mysterious legends about the glorious past of Ripalte, among old military relics (bunkers and powder magazines) and unknown paths.

    Finally access the Ginevro Mine, crossing the boundaries of the property: an old magnetite extraction mine, the largest in Europe!
    Wear a helmet and hiking shoes and, with the help of the authorized guide, explore the network of underground tunnels, in the only mine on Elba developed below sea level for 90 meters!

    After the visit, we will reach the nearby Design Winery of Ripalte, the building that immediately catches the eye along the road that descends to the mines, included in the elite of the 14 "Tuscany Wine Architecture".

    On the terrace with breathtaking views, the Wine Tourism Aperitif will take place: a toast with three wines from Ripalte, typical flavors paired and a reserved spot on the panoramic terrace with breathtaking views of the sea and vineyards.

    The wines will be paired with local products from the Island of Elba and Tuscany: typical cheeses of different aging and processing, artisanal cured meats from local free-range farming, typical recipes, and the extra virgin olive oil from the Island of Elba. All food products are carefully selected from small local producers, artisans of taste, and are presented during the aperitif.

    • Required clothing: sneakers and clothing to protect against the cold in the mine
    • For minors under 18:
      - are allowed on the off-road tour and inside the mine
      - are allowed at the aperitif for relaxation, but cannot drink alcohol. A snack will be provided for them instead of the wine tasting
    • Not accessible to disabled persons, recommended only for those in good health (no heart problems or other physical issues)
    • The Jeep excursion lasts 1h. The visit to the mines lasts 1h30m. The aperitif lasts about 1h. The total duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
